    This course pursues a twofold objective:

    (1) raise awareness among students of the personal implications related to entrepreneurship. Experience shows that aspects related to the coherence between man and project are too often overlooked with regard to those relating to the project - market consistency.

    2) offer students the tools needed for the construction of a Business Model (BM). The project managers must be able to precisely describe the BM for their future company. It is indeed by the latter that a global vision of the activity will take shape and that the individual demonstrates a mastery of how it will create value.

    This course focuses on the key concepts to prepare, use and interpret financial reports according to international standards. 

    We will discuss economic transactions and show how they are represented in the international accounting and financial systems.

    This course provides a general exposition of the economic approach to international trade. It exposes the main models of international trade. This exposition is then complemented with a presentation of the main international organizations outlining the framework of international trade. The course pays particular attention to international investment flows, analyzing FDI and FPI, as well as the current globalization phenomenon.

    This course is comprised of two main sections. The first section provides an economic approach to trade theory and international economics. It first present Adam Smith's thoery of Absolute Advantage and Ricardo's Law of Comparative Advatage before presenting more recent approaches that takes into account national specificities. Here we focus on Heckscher-Ohlin theorem and its main developments. The section concludes with an analysis of the concepts of competitiveness and attractiveness.

    The second section presents an introduction of the political approach of International Economic Relations. We study the theoretical background of this specific approach and use it to analyze the history of international organizations and their relations with national Governments.

    Information and communication technologies drive globalization and have radically changed the organization of work structures within organizations. The organizations have responded by progressively shifting from traditional co-located teams to global virtual teams (GVTs) (Webster and Wong, 2008).  GVTs are not constrained by traditional geographic and time boundaries and can offer many advantages if properly managed. How to use effectively GVTs  became an indispensable prerequisite to implementing global strategies of global companies.
     
    This new phenomenon entails several important repercussions for management theories regarding the boundaries of the firm, principal-agent relationships, organizational learning, appropriability and social networks, among others. The growing importance of GVTs is also affecting the contents of the business curriculum, as many universities and business schools are implementing activities to teach and train students how to effectively work in this type of teams and how to cope with challenges mentioned above (Taras et al. 2013). As the crucial role of GVTs is only expected to grow more in the years to come, we encourage scholars to examine GVTs from different theoretical perspectives and empirical approaches in order to achieve implications relevant both for academics and practitioners.
    This course aims at training students how to effectively work in a GVT, understanding what aspects affect the behavior and performance of GVTs, and how can global companies benefit from the several potential advantages that a smart management of this kind of team may provide?
